POSTED ON 13th October 2016
Local Partnerships works with the Welsh Government to deliver the Green Growth Wales programme.
Working with colleagues from the University of South Wales, and with the sponsorship of Welsh Government, Local Partnerships arranged a successful workshop on the 6th October led by Rhys Horan and Jane Forshaw. The workshop, which was held at the University’s Wales Hydrogen Centre, was attended by over 20 professionals from a range of public sector organisations.
Hugely informative presentations were delivered by leading experts on the potential of hydrogen as a vehicle fuel and also the role of hydrogen fuel cells in providing heat and power. Details of Western Power Distribution’s Hydrogen, Heat and Fleet innovative project were shared. Through the scheme a number of vehicles are being converted to hydrogen and a new hydrogen refuelling facility is being installed in one of their South Wales depots. A prototype hydrogen fuel car, the Rasa, was also demonstrated to attendees.
The event was a great success with very positive feedback. A review of the workshop to consider next steps will now take place between Local Partnerships, University of South Wales and Welsh Government.
