One day conference: Public Service Mutuals
WRITTEN BY Local Partnerships
POSTED ON 8th August 2016
On 6th July a one day conference for public service mutuals was held at Local Government House, supported by Local Partnerships and partnered with The Employee Ownership Association.
Over 150 representatives of public service mutuals came together to learn about and share their experiences of business growth, diversification and competition.
Public service mutuals deliver over £1.5 billion of public service contracts. The sector continues to grow and demonstrate its ability to bring enterprise, innovation and quality to public service delivery. Success of the sector has been achieved alongside a number of ongoing challenges, and delegates discussed the ways in which access to investment and current commissioning and procurement processes presented as barriers to growth for some businesses.
Matt Hancock, Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General, addressed the conference and confirmed the Government’s continued support of the sector and its manifesto pledge on the “Right to Mutualise”.
