Local Partnerships has helped Buckinghamshire County Council to launch its new Re:fit Schools programme.

This programme has been designed to support Buckinghamshire’s schools reduce energy bills, improve energy efficiency and the operation of their school buildings. The council is also using the interest-free loan offered by Salix Finance, helping to make the improvements “cost neutral” as the energy savings are guaranteed and pay back the loan.

Buckinghamshire has developed this programme from its own successfully delivered Re:fit programme, involving its corporate buildings. This delivered energy efficiency improvements and revenue-generating Solar PV solutions to a number of its buildings; including its head office, libraries, community centres and depots.

The council recently delivered two road shows in High Wycombe and Ashley Green, which were well-attended by interested local primary and secondary schools
