Launch of local authority company review guidance

WRITTEN BY Local Partnerships
POSTED ON 9th September 2021

I am delighted to announce the launch of our local authority company review guidance.

Recently many councils have seen the need to review their wholly or partly owned companies to provide assurance that the governance structures and processes for managing risk are sufficiently robust and that their companies are meeting their expectations, delivering real benefits, and providing value for money.

Local Partnerships has produced guidance and a toolkit to help councils review their existing companies. The guidance also sets out the questions and challenges that we believe are relevant to the decision-making processes for establishing new wholly or partly owned council companies.

I would like to thank Max Caller for his advice in developing our guidance and providing the foreword.

Read the guidance on our website.
