Martin Walker

Programme Director – Housing

Martin is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Local Partnerships’ housing programme. Martin has worked in senior regeneration roles, in local government and in the private sector, for around 20 years. Previous roles have included Head of Regeneration and Area Director roles within local government, with lead accountability for areas such as regeneration programmes, strategic housing, asset management, planning policy, and community development. As a Project Director in local government he also led the establishment and delivery of one of the country’s largest domestic energy efficiency partnerships. In the private sector, working for one of the country’s largest private companies, he was responsible for the delivery of a programme of housing and energy efficiency projects, through public-private partnerships. Martin has had personal responsibility for many successful programmes and projects over that time, including transformational housing regeneration schemes, town centre regeneration schemes, land acquisition and disposal, the development of a number of public-private partnerships, housing stock transfer, new housing developments, and domestic energy efficiency projects. Within Local Partnerships, as well as leading the delivery of our overall housing programme, Martin is directly supporting a number of Councils in developing and delivering their housing growth plans.
