New toolkit launched to support LEPS and local authority partners with transport projects

POSTED ON 21st January 2015
A new toolkit has been launched for all local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) and their local authority partners to support the delivery of transport projects as part of their local growth fund allocations.
The toolkit is the outcome of the first stage of the DfT’s ‘Transport Delivery Excellence (TDE) project’ to provide LEPs with a range of materials, tools and face to face support for the delivery of transport projects. The toolkit will help LEPs and their delivery partners assess their current position, in relationship to programme delivery, and to consider how this can be developed – with support available if required.
Local Partnerships worked closely with the DfT, the LEP Network and ten volunteer LEPs across the country to develop the toolkit. It is now available for all LEPs to use. Although it’s been developed to assist transport projects the toolkit can also be applied to others areas of LEP activity.
The next stage of the TDE programme is for LEPs and their local authority delivery partners to use the toolkit to assess their current position and potential support needs. They can then apply to the DfT for further support – from Local Partnerships or another provider, to help them address those needs.
To apply for further DfT support, toolkit templates must be completed and submitted to the LEP Network or Local Partnerships by 16 January.
